Career Night Open Houses at Ocean County College

If you’re interested in changing careers or moving up the ladder in your current profession, the Department of Continuing and Professional Education at Ocean County College is hosting two Career Open Houses in September.  Both Open Houses will be held in Room 224, Arts & Community Center (Building #18), OCC Main Campus, College Drive, Toms River, NJ.  Admission is free and open to the public.

The following two Open Houses are your opportunity to meet the instructors, learn about training and certificate programs, and ask questions about education and career opportunities.

The Medical Billing & Medical Coding as a Career Open House will be held onSaturday, September 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Be a part of a growing field in the healthcare industry by starting a career as a billing and medical coding professional working either in a home business or healthcare facility.  Medical billers and coders hold a very important position in the medical field and trained workers are in high demand.  Billers and coders are responsible for the accurate flow of information and data between physicians, patients, and third-party payers.  Without highly-skilled workers, healthcare businesses could not function efficiently.  Attend this Open House to learn how you can complete a Medical Billing and Coding Certificate either online or in a traditional classroom.

The Health Information Technology (HIT) & Electronic Health Record (EHR) New Information/Exploration Open House will be held on Wednesday, September 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Practical knowledge of electronic health records is essential to all medical professionals and support staff currently working in or planning to enter the workforce in this growing field.  The HIT & EHR Open House will provide an overview and demonstration of a popular EHR software package.
