Fugel, of Manchester, was employed for 27 years as a banker with Fidelity Union Trust Company, Newark before retiring in 1986. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He belonged to the VFW Post#7904, the Knights of Columbus, Council #934, both in Leisure Village West, and the Hudson Catholic Men's Club. He was a communicant of St. John's R.C. Church, Lakehurst. Born in Jersey City, he lived there and in Newark, before moving to Manchester in 1995. In addition to his parents, Jacob and Mary Schmidt Fugel, he is predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, John, George, and Stephen Fugel, and by a sister, Yolanda Strebber.
