Agenda: Council to Vote on Temporary Budget

Manchester Township Council will meet in the Municipal Complex courtroom at 6 p.m. Monday

A resolution authorizing a temporary budget to take the township through the remainder of 2012 will be voted on when Manchester's Township Council meets Monday evening for its second of two regular meetings in October.

During the 6 p.m. meeting in the Municipal Complex courtroom, the $15.7 million temporary budget is scheduled to be authorized through resolution, according to the draft resolution posted to the township's website

Manchester is in a transitional period, having switched from a fiscal year to calendar year operation, meaning that a temporary budget is required to finish out 2012. In May, the council approved the township's switch from a July-through-June fiscal year operation to a January-through-December calendar year plan.

The bare-bones budget was introduced on Sept. 24 and is meant as a stopgap to allow for the township's operations through 2012 until the 2013 spending plan is approved. The temporary budget is available in the agenda for that meeting.

Also on the agenda is an ordinance for the township to vacate a portion of Maple Street for a car wash site and a resolution accepting state grant money for Colonial Drive construction, among other items.
