Police credit tipsters with helping locate girl, 13, who was reported missing Monday evening
Update, 7 p.m.: A 13-year-old Manchester girl who went missing Monday is expected to be reunited with her mother this evening.
Manchester police Capt. Lisa Parker credited tipsters with helping to locate Triamber Whitaker, a Calvary Academy in Lakewood student, who did not return home Monday evening after last being seen in the area near the Briar Hill Apartments off of Route 37.
"Tips came into the police department that helped to assist the police in locating the juvenile close to her residence," Parker said Tuesday evening.
Whitaker was found unharmed, Parker said.
Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford said authorities were grateful for the help.
"Her family, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Manchester Police Department want to express their thanks to the members of the community who provided information and assisted in locating Triamber."
Authorities are asking for the public's help in locating a 13-year-old Manchester girl who went missing Monday.
Manchester police and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office are conducting a missing persons investigation of Triamber Whitaker, who lives with her mother in the Briar Hill Apartments located off of Route 37, said Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford in a statement.
Whitaker, an eighth-grade student at Calvary Academy in Lakewood, did not return home Monday evening. She was last seen in the area near the Briar Hill Apartments, Ford said.
Whitaker is 4 feet 11 inches, weights about 85 pounds and wears square-rimmed blue and purple eyeglasses, Ford said.
"She was last seen wearing a blue 'Aeropostale' hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white 'Nike' high-top sneakers with pink and yellow airbrush decorations on them. She was carrying a 'High School Musical' purse," Ford said.
