I thought the speed limit was 50 on rt. 70, If you are doing 60 maybe he will do his job by stopping you for speeding.

60 is safer than 50 on rt.70. if you're traveling @ 50, you're a rolling road block probably about to get pushed out of the way.

If they weren't preoccupied with other things & keeping their eyes on the road, this wouldn't have happened..... IDIOT!

Some people really need to learn how to speak, write and spell before they make a post. Its "Wednesday", "morning", "pulling" and for the record, there is no such word as "yous" or "azz" you ass

Who cares how someone speaks or spells or comments? Everyone has a right to express themselves without criticism. Stick to the story & stop being so critical of everyone. MaurB...if you want to criticize someone, criticize yourself because you said "Its." The correct usage would have been It's! It is like you want to say it is. Enough hating already!

I've been living in this state for 5 out of my 40 years and have never seen so many car accidents. I can't even say I feel safer on the roads than the highways. Over half the drivers don't use signal lights and have the need to tailgate only to sit at the next red light. What's the rush? And what's the deal with all the cars hitting and killing pedestrians? Last I remember the pedestrian has the right of way. I truly fear the day my kids are old enough to drive here.

pedestrians only have right of way in certain circumstances not at all times.

I can't believe that some of you people have nothing to say but nasty or negative comments. If it was your family member that just got killed you would say "WHAT ASSHOLES"!. You must have been the kid in school nobody ever liked and still has no friends. NASTY PEOPLE. Grow a Dahm heart while your growing up. Really...how could you talk about a human life like that?

Just to add... My husband actually was killed in an accident on his motorcycle at the age of 30. He drove for a living and was always cautious. He was run off the road and into a guardrail by an aggressive driver who cut him off to avoid hitting a car that had slowed down in front of him. Had the driver of that car not been tailgating he would have had time to slow down instead of moving into my husbands lane and my children would have their father today. If my comments appeared to be negative to anyone I do apologize and sympathize with the family of the victim, however I speak from personal experience.

I'm so sorry for your loss Barbara. People drive like a-holes and one day they actually do realize they were driving like an a-hole. That day usually involves an ambulance, police and worst someone injured or dead because they chose to drove like an a-hole.

ok maur8 or MORON 8 -AZZ is how you spell it if you have some kind of kooth.....second your probably the one of the other jerks that cant drive for the road meaning if everyone would just have half a brain and drive how they should for condition like 60 at 530 AM is alot safer then 75 AT 6PM or 9am as im sure the poor people in accident were.....but none the less we are in a "anything goes " society so it will be what it will be .....but dam sure as i sit here if there some cop cars sitting out on that highway like there was 10-20 yrs ago there sure as hell wouldnt be as many idiot prone accidents or our kids dieing in sensless deaths. so does it really matter how i spell as long as maybe some one thinks the next time......

Why don't we all slow down a bit. It might help. I know I will try. I know I seem to rush to get somewhere, and fall into the speeding and cutting in and out. It is actually a good exercise in patience. I think it has something to do with the traffic lights on 70. It seems to me that I try to get through the green light. Has anyone noticed that they are not green long enough? Are they programmed correctly?

Apparently, he died from a heart attack while driving. I would like to thank those who have expressed sympathy for the family. The fatality was my Uncle Jimmy, a kind and gentle man. I am also thankful that there were no other critical injuries in this accident.

It seems almost every week The Patch has the story of yet another serious accident on route 70. It is also sad that the postings evolve to personal attacks. The real issue is then smothered. Fact is people are being killed here!!!
Where are the Manchester civic leaders here and when will they do something about this road?
When I drive on this route I'm especially careful. I will stay at the speed limit. The Manchester PD should be on this road in an enforcement blitz whenever it hey can. This may slow drivers down.
