Luigi's in Lakehurst, hands down. Luigi is the original Sauce Boss. He's the King of Cannolis, the President of Pepperoni, the Governor of Gabagool, the Senator of the Sfogliatelle, the Mayor or Marinara. Go check it out...you won't be disappointed.

I can't believe there is any doubt about this... "LUIGI'S RESTAURANT & PIZZERIA" in Lakehurst is the original king, prince, lord and duke of all Italian restaurants!! Don't even bother trying the rest...when you have found the best!!

Luigi's makes the best pizza. They will put any topppings and can make the crust thin or thick. They cook it to perfection! I live in Monmouth County and take the ride on the weekends for the food with my husband and my two children. Great casual ambiance with live music. I am looking forward to the warmer weather to enjoy their relaxed outdoor space.

I agree with one of the posters, sounds to me like Rocco G's may have a few ringers if they came out on top. Everyone I know that has gone there has not been charmed. Hefty prices, watery gravy (tomato sauce), lousy bread.

My two favorite restaurants in town are Cafe Napoli, and Emelios, on 571, I"m Italian, and am very picky. . . both have great Italian food, never got anything I didn't like for 5 years now. . . only difference it Emelio's has FRESH brewed Ice Tea, not from a fountain, and they make a great salad.
