Five things happening in and around Manchester today
Looks like another day of showers and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. The high should hit the upper-80s.
Here are some of today's local events:
1. Manchester's Board of Adjustment is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at the township's municipal complex on Colonial Drive.
2. Mr. Scott the Music Man and Sparks will perform a family program at 10:30 a.m. at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library. Attendees are encouraged to get off their feet and dance.
3. Today marks the start of the Adult Summer Reading Program, "Novel Destinations" at the Manchester Branch of the Ocean County Library. The program, which features refreshments, drawings and giveaways, runs from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The film "Under the Tuscan Sun" will be screened at 2 p.m.
4. The County Connection will hold osteoporosis screenings for women from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Ocean County Mall office. Call 732-288-7777 to make an appointment.
5. The BlueClaws will take on the Delmarva Shorebirds at 7:05 p.m. at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood. The Phillie Phanatic and the team's 1980 and 2008 World Series trophies will be at the park. Call 732-901-7000 for ticket information.
