I was thinking the same thing? And what time of "group home" is this? That they are able to walk away so easy from? Sounds like a rehab?

This group home is the home to a handful of adults. There are many homes of this type in our community. The last man to escape was a paranoid schizophrenic according to the patch during the situation in Dec, "Richard B. Heydorn was last seen at approximately 5 p.m. and is believed to have walked away from the group home...Heydorn may demonstrate violent tendencies, if encountered, so anyone coming in contact with him should use caution and contact local authorities immediately, police said." Luckily Richard was found safely, hopefully the same goes for Deborah. Something just doesn't seem right that a patient has "wandered off" twice within a month.

Seriously, I agree with Nicole and Marc W. Somebody is NOT doing their job. It is also of concern that a "street address" for this facility cannot be located. Is it located in a residential neighborhood with children in the area? Sounds like there should be more accountability on the part of the residents and those running the "facility".

yes it is located in a residential community. As a matter of fact there are a handful of these types of homes I know of...in some areas every other street has a home i.e.) deleware ave, chester ave, rt 539 (this particular one is the rt 539 home)

Yes they are offten rented homes that elderly people cant manage any more so the realitors offten rent these home to fresh start type orgs. Most times the homeowners have no clue about what happens there, such was the case case in toms river when a overcrowed home caught fire due to someone fallen asleep while smoking. The homeowners were elderly & tried to sell the home while they were in a assisted living home and couldnt sell due to town rezoning, had to be listed as a commercial properity, the realitor rents it out to group homes for Rehabs etc.....

What's your point Debbie? They aren't prisons, they are group homes staffed 24/7 with ppl incapable of living alone. These patients aren't supposed to be able to leave alone for the patients safety as well as the public's safety. Idk about u but I do not want a mentally ill person with violent tendencies roaming around my neighborhood where 8 year olds are riding bicycles, playing etc
