UPDATE: Manchester Crash Victim Identified
David Vignevic, 34, succumbed to injuries after crashing into utility pole and overturning vehicle
UPDATE, 12:30 p.m. Sunday: The motorist who died at the scene of a one-car crash Saturday in Manchester has been identified by Capt. Lisa Parker as David Vignevic, 34, of Suburban Drive in Toms River.
An unidentified motorist died this morning after crashing into a utility pole.
Manchester police Capt. Lisa Parker said the motorist, who has not been identified pending the notification of next of kin, was driving a blue 2004 Honda Accord west on Route 571 at 4:24 a.m. when he left the road and hit a utility pole. The Accord overturned, Parker said, before hitting a tree near Quarry Road.
The motorist was wearing a seat-belt and was traveling alone, Parker said.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Manchester and Ridgeway fire departments assisted police at the scene, as well as paramedics from MONOC, Quality Medical Transport, the Ocean County Criminalistic Investigation Unit and the Ocean County Medical Examiner's Office.
The crash is being investigated by Manchester Patrolmen Ian Bole and Antonio Ellis.

Sad. Another reason why power, cable and communication lines should be underground. Then again, if it wasn't a utilty pole, it would of been a tree.

you people are unrealistic it would cost a hundred times the price to install utilities underground and still have service issues with acidity in the ground and other issues like high water table its unrealistic even contimplate it are you gonna pay .... i didnt think so

As a lifelong friend of the deceased, thank you Tracy for having a soul. Laci and Martin, may you never have to read about the death of someone you love and find comments as inexcusably insensitive as yours.

Friend of Dave...Let me tell you a little story...This strikes you right in the heart. So sad, he was my son's teacher last year 2011-2012.. My son has Type 1 diabetes and it affects them in many ways, including their learning ability from high/low blood sugars. Mr. Vignevic was that understanding, caring and supportive teacher, right on top of caring for him when we couldn't. If he didn't know something, he would e-mail me or call to ask. He would never ever let Deven go to the nurse alone if he was too high or too low or showing signs, he would himself escort him or have a student. He was also a fair and fun teacher, remembering the stories our son would come home with and how he made them laugh. He just said to me, "Mom, I would peek in his room everyday after lunch (this year) and say hello since I pass his classroom" He would always smile and say hello back to him!! He will be greatly missed.. RIP to a wonderful teacher, friend and human being.... You will never be forgotten.

He was my home room teacher last year. Every school day this year we would pass each other in the hall and say hi and sometimes give eachother a hug. He was and incredibly super nice man who didn't deserve this. I love you mr.vignevic. Rest in peace. I will see you one day. To the best teacher ever

Oh and to the Martin guy up there. Shame on you. If that's all you can think of about my teachers death, then you shouldn't write at all. I know we're untitled to our opinion but that's sick. How would you feel if that were you and someone wrote that about your death. If you were to look down from heaven and see that someone wrote that about you. That is careless and stupid. Epesically if your a grown up. Shame shame shame. I'm sorry if you saw that mr.v. Cause whoever wrote that is a careless jerk

Mr. Vignevic will be greatly missed... :(
A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.
A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others.
The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you.
The best teacher is the one who suggests rather than dogmatizes, and inspires his listener with the wish to teach himself.
Teachers who inspire realize there will always be rocks in the road ahead of us. They will be stumbling blocks or stepping stones; it all depends on how we use them.

We used to play street hockey, and he was one hell of a golfer. If you didn't know him, you missed out on knowing a great person. Dave will be missed.

Matt... I am not sure I ever had the chance to play street hockety with him... but I have been humbled on the golf course by him. Dave was a great guy who always went out of his way to make you feel welcome. The world lost a great spirit.

I grew up with Dave. We were on the high school wrestling team together. He was the type of guy that could always bring laughter to a 95 degree wrestling room 2 hours into practice. Rest in Peace Viggy. You will be missed.
