A township man riding a bicycle sustained minor injuries after he collided with a car at the intersection of Route 530 and Lake Road earlier this week, police reported. 

At about 5:10 p.m. Monday, 60-year-old Judith Morollo of Whiting was traveling west on Route 530 when she attempted a left turn on to Lake Road. As she was making the turn, 55-year-old Donald Bauman of Whiting, who was traveling eastbound, collided with the car, said Manchester Police Department Capt. Lisa Parker in a statement. 

Bauman sustained "minor" injuries and refused medical attention at the scene. Morollo was uninjured, Parker said. 

Road construction was under way on Route 530 during the incident, though police did not immediately indicate if it was a factor. The crash is being investigated by Patrolman Tom O'Hare of the department's Traffic Safety Unit, Parker said.

On Tuesday, police said that an 85-year-old township woman suffered head trauma after falling in the Whiting Stop & Shop parking lot. 

Betty Shotwell, of Whiting, was walking through the grocery store's parking lot at about 12:10 p.m. when she "allegedly stumbled over a parking block and fell on the asphalt," Parker said. 

Shotwell suffered a cut over her left eye and head trauma, Parker said. 

Patrolman Jason Wiener and members of Quality Medical Transport and MONOC paramedics helped Shotwell, who was then taken by helicopter to the regional trauma center at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Parker said.
