Police Blotter: Drug, Assault and DWI Charges Issued
Law enforcement activity reported by Manchester officers last week
Two township 18-year-olds were charged with drug possession last week, according to information released by Manchester Police Department Capt. Lisa Parker.
William V. Nieves was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance on Route 571 near the intersection with Route 547 on Sunday, Aug. 26, Parker said.
That same day, Matthew E. Champlin was charged with the same offense on Route 547 near Ridgeway Boulevard, according to the captain.
Both men were charged by Patrolman Richard Mazza and released with summonses, according to Parker.

Thursday, Aug. 30
Manchester resident Eugene S. Lecompte, 49, was charged with possession of a weapon at Manchester Police Department headquarters by Patrolman Robert Walaszek. Lecompte was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, according to Parker.
Friday, Aug. 31
Steven D. Piercy, 22, of Manchester was charged with hindering police on Englemere Boulevard by Patrolman Peter Manco. Piercy was released after posting bail, Parker said.
Donald E. Pizzolato Jr., a 52-year-old from Millstone, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Route 37 near Commonwealth Boulevard by Patrolman Anthony Iliadis. Parker said that Pizzolato was released with a summons.
Israel Carrasco, 30, of Lakewood, was charged with assault on Arnold Drive by Patrolman Brian Volk. Carrasco was release on his own recognizance, according to Parker.
The above charges are accusations made by police and are not an indication of guilt.
