Rescheduled ConcertFest Performances Wednesday
Storm threat forced postponement of last week's show
The summer ConcertFest performances postponed last week due to the threat of thunderstorms will be held tonight at Harry Wright Lake.
Joel and the Dynamics and The Infernos will play at the Whiting lake for the second of the township department of recreation's four 2012 ConcertFest performances beginning at 6 p.m.
"[Forecasters are] predicting a beautiful night," said Council Vice President Brendan Weiner. "I don't think there will be a better night for a concert out there."
The National Weather Service predicts that Wednesday's high temperature will reach 85 degrees and cool to the mid-60s into the night with partly cloudy skies.
"If you haven't made it to a concert, Wednesday night is your night," Weiner said. "It's going to be really good, bring your dancing shoes, bring a lawn chair."
The first in the series of concerts was held on June 30 and also featured an Independence Day celebration, complete with fireworks. Shows also feature vendors and food for sale.
Upcoming performances will be held on Aug. 8 with The British Invasion Tribute Band and The Duprees, and Aug. 29 with Rave on and Kenny Vance and the Planotones.
"It's a wonderful time," Weiner said.
