Nursing Facility Application on Special Thursday Zoning Board Meeting Agenda
Application for skilled nursing facility is only item on agenda
A special meeting of Manchester's Zoning Board of Adjustment Thursday night will feature only the application for a skilled nursing facility.
A crowd too large for the municipal complex courtroom at the board's regular January meeting meant the adjournment of the application that month. February's zoning board meeting did not include the application on the agenda since the special 7 p.m. meeting for March at Manchester Township High School already had been set.
A variance is required for construction since the property where the applicant wants to build the facility is zoned as residential. Since the application's introduction in June, a growing number of residents have spoken out against it, as they fear it may lower their quality of life and property values.
Zoning board officials said that it may be possible to finish hearing testimony within the next few meetings. The last meeting at which the application was heard was in December, when testimony from traffic and landscape experts was presented.
The agenda is available online or is viewable as a PDF document in the media box of this article.

Its time to vote out the political machine in Manchester. What they are in favor of is not in the
best interest of the area residents. There is enough vacant land in Manchester to build
the said project without down grading a residential area. Tom Hinz
