"Life is better... with Makeup"

It’s amazing what a little makeup, a good hairstyle, a nice dress, and heels can do for any woman!!

I have a funny story I would like to share for my first makeup blog. …

My name is Jennifer Lynn Chlebowski, Professional Makeup Artist for twenty years and Owner of Heavenly Touch Cosmetics.  Being I have been in the beauty business for so long, I always tell my clients that even if you are just running errands, take a few minutes to apply at least mascara, a little bronzer and lipgloss (preferably HTC)… you never know who you might run into.

But, never did I expect not to be recognized by my softball teammates of two years simply because they were only used to seeing me with softball uniform on, hair in pony tail, hat, and almost no makeup!

Our co-ed softball team is in the play-offs.  Last Tuesday I was even the team’s MVP, helping us win the game! Wednesday we had another game, but I had a meeting in NYC with a fashion designer and photographer, didn’t think I would make it back to NJ in time to play… especially during rush hour in NYC.

Needless to say, I attempted to make it, only to arrive at the field after the game with half the team leaving, and slapping hands.  I ran over to say “Yay! We won” they all looked at me like I was some stranger. Now, we all look different without makeup on and in sweats and hat, but it never dawned on me that they wouldn’t know who I was.

One even said, “Geez Jen… you were girl next door, now you’re the hot chick.”

Just goes to show what a little makeup can do for any woman!  Ladies… don’t leave home without it. Now, I don't suggest wearing makeup to play sports.  But, when you do go out, put an effort forth.  Wear a nice dress, heels, do your hair, and of course, apply makeup, tastefully!

Many women ask how to wear eyeshadow trio's properly.  Here's a few tips... always start a shadow primer all over the lid (this will prevent smudging and keep the shadow on longer.)  Then use the lightest color for your highlight (under brow bone) Medium color for the lid, and darkest color as your contour (in the crease, make an exaggerated, sideways "v")

I like to use a liquid liner on top of eyes, as close to the lash line as possible for a sleek, "cat eye look." I often suggest lining the inside of your eye with a black kohl liner (stays best inside eye) to enhance the color of your eyes and add a dramatic flare.  Also, to prevent mascara or liner from falling under lashes, highlight under the eye with a thin line of shadow (either your highlight color, or lid color) to add a glow of color.

I will be sharing makeup tips each week, please let me know if you have any makeup questions!  I will do my best to answer them!

Xoxo
