In Whiting: What is Congressman Chris Smith's Position On Middle-Class Tax Relief?

I dropped by your Whiting office this morning, Friday, 121412 to comment on "The Cliff."
There is nothing on page 1 of you website re this monumental issue. I asked if your staff could tell me whether or not you will toe the line with Speaker, Boehner, and not support any tax increase? Will you support a tax cut for the overwhelming majority of your constituents, those who pay under $150,000.00 in income taxes. This tax relief will include most small businesses.
I was told that the staff was there only to supplly constituent services, not to respond to a question regarding your public position on any issue.
My questions were written down and could not be advised just when you would be able to get back to me. I thank your staff for their usual courtesy.
I invite readers of Manchester Post to express their interest in this issue.

I have been asking for an appointment since November 28 to get into a discussion with Congressman Smith. How does a representative vote on issues if they do not talk to their constituents? Why doesn't the staff have his position their for discussion? After a while others joined me in a short gathering in front of the Congressman's Whiting office. Now it is a crowd. Join us this Monday 12/24 at 2 pm to let his other constituents know.

Sorry I can't be there today. On my way to north Jersey to spend a family Christmas. I believe in citizen action and believe individuals do make a difference. I think there are some positions I agree with him, he's been an advocate of banning so-called assault weapons. He has earned the scorn of the Tea Party. But recently he has been a bit too quiet on pressing issues as "The Cliff" and the recent terror in Conneticut. Rrequest to be hear and avoid being confrontational. More light than heat.

I'ts a shame that we have a Congress that only thinks about themselves, their politcal Patry and Lobbyist. We elected them to work for us and make our lives better not theirs, so when are they going to stop acting like babies and get to work and get us out of this mess they caused?

Rapid firing, high velocity weapons do not kill people. Readily available weapons of this description increase the ability for one person to kill and injure many more children in the shortest period of time.
Representative Smith has been a staunch supporter of banning this sort of weapon. Twice he supported the Brady Bill. Why is he silent now?

Both parties are a discrace, the president and Democrats,want to raise taxes on all people, take benifits away from seniors, the poor and Veterans, and cut the military all so they can punish those who are sucessful. Success and the military drive the democats nuts and come new years day the get their ultimate dream, raise taxes on all and cut the military without having to vote. The Republicans are a joke as well, they have no spines what so ever, their plans have been an absolute discrace. Both parties created this mess, and they have the nerve to divide up our personal property like we had anything to do with this mess, We don't have a too litle tax problem in this country we have an out of control spending issue, which is not addressed by either party. They ask us to have more skin in the game, let them put up. for starters cut their saleries in half and their pensions, force them to enter in this great Obama care that has been shoved on us and a pay freeze until the debt is paid off. We always want to protect and save our children but we have no problem with their futures being robbed by our government. Some will complain but as seen in the last election the uniformed will vote the same bums back in at the local, state and federal level. Lets not forget the Trillon dollars in new taxes, this New years day to pay from the great Obama care. We worry about the fiscal cliff, we have already gone over.

We have heard from Representative Chris Smith. Here are some excerpts and a link to his full statement.

I fear that such “Leadership” leaves far to many of our neighbors in a horrible condition. Resistance to relief from “SANDY'S” devistation by “The House” is unimaginable. Where is our voice in Washington?
