Jlh, did the public get invited to comment?
JLH July 24, 2014 at 09:54 AM
Scott, yes they did. The president invited the public to comment on both agenda and non-agendaRead Moreitems . I'm wondering if the author of this article was even there.
Watch what is going on in LACEY TWP VERY Carefully...you can do what they are doing. Outside helpRead Morei s available.

One more thing to help forward the collapse of Manchester. Out of control spending by the Board ofRead MoreE ducation, forclosures, illegal activity, bloated salaries and soon another political disaster with an economic corridor. I don't necessarily think any town is better off, I just pay taxes in this one.

I believe the Board of Ed has done a great job keeping cost under control with out cutting programs Read Morefor the kids this is a tough task when 70% seniors and 30% younger families. We have a good school system with employees WHO CARE.
get involved July 24, 2014 at 07:56 AM
I agree. The Board of Ed has been doing what needs to be done and nothing more. Let's remember aRead Morefew years ago when the budget did not pas; many teachers and support staff were laid off, world language was eliminated from the elementary schools as well as funding for science, and the sport buses were eliminated at the Middle School, and some at the High School. How do you expect our children to be competitive when you don't update their technology, provide them with advanced skills and offer proper sports programs. Whiting kids that are involved in sports from MS to HS have to find transportation from the other side of town. Many of those students won't participate because their parents both work fulltime and they have no way to get home. Since the senior citizen residents only pay a small percentage of property taxes in comparison to the residential areas, maybe their vote should only count for that percentage when dealing with the schools. Or maybe since they are allowed to use our school buses, we can use their buses for the athletes in Whiting.

Sadly, there is quite a bit of misleading information going around. The State did NOT approve theRead Morec oin toss being conducted on Route 70. The Boro DID recommend to the Fire Co several alternate sites that would be far safer. I know this for a fact because I am on the Public Safety Committee. I saw the denial from the state, and was part of the discussions for other sites for the coin toss. I cannot tell you why the Fire Co chose not to utilize them. You would have to ask them that question. The Boro supports financially and enthusiastically the Lakehurst Fire Co, and hope this corrects the wrong information.

Good luck Mr.Palmer, its going to be a big challenge for you but someone has to try. As you knowRead MoreMan chester is 70% seniors and 30% non-seniors with 10% of the non-seniors under voting age. You'll need to open up (talk in person) and meet the seniors more then the non-seniors to have any chance. Do the town hall stuff at every senior village more then once if possible. Don't do social media campaigning too much, its better in person plus most seniors don't use media devices. Hit those shopping centers everyday too. PS ..you got my vote!
