A 51-year-old man was arrested on resisting-arrest charges Wednesday after a traffic stop, police said. On Wednesday, Officer Scott Thompson observed a dark colored vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed along State Hwy 70 west bound near Route 46. Ptl. Thompson then stopped the 2001 black four-door Volkswagen along State Hwy 70 at the entrance of the Manchester Plaza in Manchester Township. The vehicle was occupied by one male driver. A 19-year-old former Lakehurst man faces several charges after police received a report that a male subject broke in through a front door in Pinehurst Estates and assaulted a female. A warrant had been issued for George G. Gay, 19, who had a former address of 2404 Pinehurst Estates, Lakehurst. On 04/16/2013 Manchester police responded to the Ridgeway Mobile Home Park for a reported disturbance between two males.  Police located the 16 year old caller in the area of Circle Drive.  According to the Juvenile, he was assaulted by his sister’s boyfriend who was later identified as Arron Brown. Brown, is a 29 year old Township resident, and was said to have been arguing with the juvenile’s sister. Four people were arrested March 30 after they were pursued by Manchester police. Lakewood residents Jermeler Sample, 25; Enrique Santiago, 20; Diana Mendez, 24, were charged with possession of marijuana and released on summonses, police said. The driver, 36-year-old Brick Township resident Jacques Johnson, had numerous outstanding warrants in excess of $2,600. Johnson also had a suspended driver’s license and the vehicle was unregistered. A 48-year-old Whiting man was charged this week with stealing a car outside Spirit’s Bar and Grill in Manchester, police said. David Mansueto of Columbine Avenue was charged with unlawful taking of means of conveyance, disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice. At approximately 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Ptl. A 66-year-old Manchester man who was caught on video smashing the Lakehurst Barber Shop pole was arrested Wednesday, police said. Fred E. Wood Jr. was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief in connection with the incident, police said. The arrest was made after a man wearing a baseball cap was caught on video Tuesday as he smashed the antique barber shop pole. A man wearing a baseball cap was caught on video Tuesday as he smashed the antique barber shop pole at the Lakehurst Barber Shop, according to the store's owner. The video can be found by clicking here, on the shop owner's Facebook page. Craig Simpson, the owner of the shop, said the incident took place at 8:41 p.m. Tuesday night at the Union Avenue shop. "Numerous" hypodermic syringes were discovered when a 48-year-old woman was arrested and charged in Manchester for driving while intoxicated, police said. Jill Dillon of Brick was arrested by Officer Joseph Reilly after she was stopped for failing to maintain her lane of travel on Route 70 and Green Acres Road, police said. During the motor vehicle stop, Dillon provided Officer Reilly with a fake name in order to avoid a summons for driving while suspended and an outstanding warrant out of Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, police said. A Manchester man was recently arrested in relation to a motor vehicle burglary, a crime that has been prominent throughout Lacey Township lately. At approximately 7:53 p.m. March 10 officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle burglary on the 700 Block of Alpine Street. Someone entered a vehicle but was scared off by the vehicle’s owner. The vehicle’s owner supplied police with a detailed description of the actor who fled on foot. More than $2,200 in cash, jewelry and property were stolen Monday from the Renaissance development, police said. On Tuesday, Manchester police responded to 75 Eleanor Road in the Renaissance development for a reported Burglary. Ptl Robert Maccaquano discovered an open window located on the rear patio, police said. It appears that after the suspect entered the residence, her or she went into a spare bedroom which was located at the end of the hallway, police said. A vehicle apparently crashed into a traffic signal control box at Routes 70 and 571 late Thursday, temporarily shutting down the signal, police said. Richard Mitchell, 70, of was issued four motor vehicle summons in connection with the accident. No one was injured during the accident. At 6:42 pm Chief Brian Klimakowski was on patrol in the area of Routes 70 and 571 and observed the traffic signal was not functioning at the intersection, police said. A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with eight burglaries that took place recently in Pine Lake Park, police said. Dominick Frizino allegedly acted alone in the burglary of eight homes in Pine Lake Park and pawned most of the stolen items at local pawn shops, police said. Frizino was charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft and criminal mischief, police said. The Manchester Township Police are currently investigating several forced entry burglaries that have occurred in the Pine Lake Park section of the township. The suspect or suspects are using a pry tool to force entry through the exterior doors of aresidence, including sliding glass doors, police said. A composite sketch is attached of a possible suspect who was attempting to force entry into a house in the Manchester development. A 27-year-old Manchester resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana on Friday, police said. Darnell White, of the Pine Ridge development in Whiting was arrested by Officer Joseph Fastige after he was stopped inside the development, police said. It was then learned that White had an outstanding warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. White posted bail for the outstanding warrant and was released on a summons for possession of marijuana under 50 grams. This matter is pending court action.
