A 43-year-old Jackson Township resident was arrested and charged for possession of Alprazolam on Friday, police said Richard Nichols, of Anthony Way in Jackson was arrested by Officer Michael Guarino after he was stopped on Route 571. During the stop, Richard Nichols was found to be in possession of 21 Alprazolam (Xanax) tablets that were not prescribed to him, police said. It was also learned that he had an outstanding no-bail warrant out of the Lancaster, Pa. Richard Nichols was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of bail. A man was indicted this past week for possibly trying to sell heroin in Manchester, according to Ocean County Prosecutor records. Joseph Alex did knowingly possess the drug, and/or intended to distribute less than one half-ounce of it, according to the prosecutor. Alex posted $15,000 bail with a 10 percent option on Oct. 3.
A woman was indicted this past week for trying pass a phony prescription, according to Ocean County Prosecutor records. On Nov. 2, 2011, Carrie Bogurski tried to use a prescription at CVS that was allegedly approved by Steven P. Ingato, a doctor. Bogurski was issued a summons pending a possible court appearance, according to the prosecutor.
A 49-year-old Manchester man was arrested Friday after he was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash in Pine Lake Park, police said. Edward J Whiteford of Madison Avenue was charged with multiple motor vehicle violations, as well as a criminal charge of tampering with evidence. Whiteford was arrested and released pending court proceedings, police said.  The 23-year-old female driver of a Toyota was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment and was later released. A 43-year-old Manchester resident was arrested and charged for hindering her own apprehension Wednesday, police said. Sarah Postorino, of the Pine Ridge development in Whiting, was arrested by Officer Steven Wendruff after she was stopped on Route 530 near Manchester Boulevard, police said. During the stop, Postorino provided a false name to officers. The name she provided had outstanding warrants and she was subsequently placed under arrest, police said. During the investigation, Officer Wendruff learned that Postorino was not who she said she was, and additional warrants were found for her …
A man was indicted last week for trying to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of Manchester Middle School, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. Joshua P. Ghigliotty was charged with possessing marijuana and trying to distribute it within a school zone. The incident took place near the school on July 13, 2012, according to the prosecutor's office. Ghigliotty was released on his own recognizance after posting $35,000 with a 10 percent option.
A 49-year-old Whiting man with a BB gun faces drug and weapons charges after his car was stopped, police said. Michael Brancolino was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and paraphernalia as a result of a motor vehicle stop. A subsequent investigation resulted in a search warrant being issued and executed at his home located at 23 Fennel Ct. in Whiting, police said. Thirty-nine grams of marijuana, digital scales and  other drug paraphernalia, and a Walther .177 caliber BB gun were seized at the residence. Manchester police reported two drug possession charges on their most recent arrest blotter, released by Capt. Lisa Parker.  The first was reported on Wednesday, Jan. 30, when Manchester resident Michael S. Hinds, 20, was charged with the offense at Pine Acres Manor by Patrolman Joseph Reilly. The second came one day later, when 25-year-old Joshua W. Hogan of Chesterfield was charged along Route 530 in Whiting by Patrolman Anthony Iliadis, according to Parker.  Both men were released by police on summonses, Parker said. Two men were indicted this past week for possessing heroin near Lakehurst Elementary School, according to Ocean County Courthouse records. Brian M. McCauley and Nicolas A. Girgenti were charged with possessing heroin and intending to distrubte the drug. Court records provided by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday say the indicident occurred on June 30, 2012. The records say the two men allegedly intended to distribute the drug within 1,000 feet of the school. Girgenti was released after posting $75,000 bail with no 10 percent option. A man was indicted this past week for possessing several types of hardcore drugs in Manchester, according to Ocean County Courthouse records. Jose Mimoso was charged with possessing heroin, cocaine and Alprazolam. Alprazolam's trade name is Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug. Court records provided by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday say the indicident occurred on Aug. 19, 2012. The records say Mimoso allegedly did not have a valid prescription for Alprazolam. No information on bail was available.
The police have released a list of recent arrests invlving Manchester residents, or incidents that happened in Manchester. They include a drug charge involving a 41-year-old woman in Lindburgh Square. There was also a burglary charging involving a 19-year-old Manchester resident, who was arrested at police headquarters. There people were arrested on drug charges at Harry Wright Lake on Jan. 26 and 27. A 30-year-old man was charged in Lakehurst Saturday for possessing anabolic steroids and a hypodermic syringe, police said. Police charged Luis Angel Gonzalez of Beachwood after stopping his 2004 Ford Mustang as he drove west on Union Avenue, at approximately 2:30 p.m. Officer Matthew Kline had observed the driver talking on a cell phone before pulling him over, police said. Kline conducted an on-scene investigation, which led to the discovery of a vial of Testosterone Cypionate (the anabolic steroid), and a hypodermic syringe. A 24-year-old Pine Lake Park man was charged Thursday with trying to sell marijuana, police said. Daykwayn L. Morris was charged with one count each of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. On Thursday, the Manchester Township Investigations Bureau executed a court-authorized knock-and-announce search warrant on a Madison Avenue residence in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester Township. Jackson Police detectives are searching for a Lakehurst man in connection with a robbery and burglary. Complaints have been signed for robbery, burglary and impersonating a law enforcement officer for Brian E. Homolovich, 26, whose last known address is Union Avenue in Lakehurst. Bail is set at $150,000 on these charges, Jackson Police said. The robbery took place at a Maria Street residence on Jan. 9.On Friday, officers arrested Darnel Jackson, 25, of Jackson and charged him with robbery and burglary. Bail was set at $75,000 and he was later lodged in the Ocean County Jail, police said. …
A 46-year-old Lakewood woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to second degree manslaughter in connection with the death of her 67-year-old mother. Lisa Foster made the plea before Judge Wendel E. Daniels, saying she was responsible for the death of her mother, Claudette, a resident of the Original Leisure Village in Lakewood. Lisa Foster faces a potential jail term of up to 10 years. The actual term imposed in this case will be determined by Daniels when he imposes sentence on Feb 28, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. A 56-year-old man was arrested near the Union Avenue barber shop in Lakehurst Wednesday for reckless driving and related charges, police said. Joseph Stevens of Jackson was also charged with driving while intoxicated, refusing to submit to breath testing and driving while suspended, police said. On Wednesday at 2:35 p.m., Lakehurst police were dispatched near the barber shop where an off-duty police officer was attempting to keep an intoxicated driver from pulling out of a parking spot, police said. An Ocean County man Thursday admitted he ran a real estate investment fraud scheme that caused $200 million in losses, and then laundered the proceeds of the scheme, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced. Eliyahu Weinstein, aka “Eli Weinstein,” aka “Edward Weinstein,” aka “Eddie Weinstein,” 37, of Lakewood, N.J., pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Joel A. Pisano in Trenton federal court to two counts of the indictment pending against him. That includes one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and one count of money laundering. A 35-year-old Whiting man was arrested Monday after he allegedly used a false identity to avoid apprehension by the police. Darryn T. Jackson, 35, offered the name of "Duane Sykes" to avoid being arrested in Neptune on outstanding warrants, according to Monmouth County Courthouse records. Jackson is listed as a resident of Woodchuck Parkway in Whiting. Bail information was unavailable at press time.
