The New Jersey Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is proud to announce its collaboration with Atlantic City Race Week for the 2014 Atlantic City Race Week Regatta.  On July 19-20, 2014, sailors will raise their sails and thousands of dollars in the race against blood cancer.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Leukemia Cup Regatta is a thrilling series of sailing events partnering with 47 yacht clubs nationwide that combines the joy of boating with the important task of raising money to cure cancer. Since its inception, the Leukemia Cup Regatta has raised millions of dollars for lifesaving research and patient services, bringing help and hope to patients and their families.  At events held at yacht clubs across North America, skippers register their boats and recruit friends and colleagues to help crew and to raise funds. Crew members seek donations from friends, family, co-workers and employers to sponsor their boat. National and local event sponsors also support the Leukemia Cup Regatta. Each sailor who fund raises is eligible to win great prizes from LLS's national sponsors, including West Marine, North Sails, Goslings Rum, Offshore Sailing School and Moorings yachts.

Ocean City YC will again partner with Avalon YCBrigantine YCCorinthian YC of Cape May and Metedeconk River YC to continue to provide support and excellent race management for the regatta.  Our PROs from last year Jim Walsh (Manasquan River YC) and Bill Adams (Eastport YC) will be returning. PHRF Spinnaker, PHRF Non-Spinnaker, J24, J70, Melges 24, Viper 640 and Laser Fleets Invited.

The 2014 Atlantic City Race week draws on 36 years of sailing history in the community incorporating hundreds of boats over the years.  Events will be held at the Ocean City Yacht Club for a Black Tie Dinner on June 28th and culminate in the race weekend festivities at Farley Marina at the Golden Nugget.  Events start with a cocktail reception on Friday night followed by an exciting days of sailing on Saturday and Sunday.  On Saturday evening, there will be a fun and festive barbecue at the marina.   For more information and to participate, please contact Gina Murdoch at 908-956-6617 or gina.murdoch@lls.org or visit our website at www.leukemiacup.org/nj
