LADACIN Network, a non-profit agency providing support and services for individuals with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities, has added additional energy savings measures to its facilities through Direct Install from New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program. These energy savings measures are helping the organization to reduce energy costs and save money while providing substantial environmental benefits.
Hutchinson Mechanical Services, the participating Direct Install contractor for Ocean, Monmouth, Burlington and Camden counties, provided an energy assessment and consulted on the recent energy-savings measure. LADACIN, which serves over 3,000 families in 11 facilities, upgraded the heating and cooling system in half of a group home in Lakewood; added new boilers to two small apartment complexes and replaced lighting and four of five rooftop HVAC units at its Lakewood program location.
According to Greg Greer, Director of Facilities for LADACIN, “Direct Install has been positive for our organization, and we hope to continue to work with Hutchinson to take advantage of the energy savings it provides.”
Previous energy savings measures LADACIN instituted through the Direct Install Program included installation of motion-sensored lighting, upgraded lighting to energy efficient bulbs, and an upgrade to LADACIN’s HVAC system to include new rooftop units and a boiler system.
