Alpacas Pay a Visit to Manchester's Library

Manchester Library hosted Chase and Rico Suave

Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library had over seventy patrons signed up to visit with some alpaca friends on July 14.

The crowd of children and parents asked questions and petted the animals — a species of South American camelid — on the library's lawn during the interactive program.

Rose Mogerman, owner and operator of Alma Park in Jackson, brought two alpacas, 2-year-old Rico Suave and 3-year-old Chase. Mogerman said Alpacas live for about 25 years in captivity.
