Five things to know today

It may be a bit cooler today than yesterday's 80 degree warm-up, but a predicted high of 66 degrees isn't too bad, either. 

Here are five things going on today:

1. Beginning readers can take their favorite book to Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library and practice their reading skills with Mark, a certified reading therapy Golden Retriever, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Register by calling 732-657-7600.

2. Report cards for Manchester students are being issued today.

3. The county Board of Social Services will be available to present information on assistance programs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the County Connection office in the Ocean County Mall. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

4. Georgian Court University will host Flowers Throughout the Year at the Casino Ballroom from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The program will teach participants about which flowers can be grown indoors and out. Call 732-987-2232 for more information.

5. The BlueClaws will face the Greensboro Grasshoppers at 6:35 p.m. at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood. Tuesday is senior's day at the stadium. Call 732-901-7000 for ticket information.
