Here are some of today's local happenings:

1. "Rapunzel" is the subject of the Twisted Fairy Tales Puppet Show at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library. The show for ages 3 and up begins at 10:30 a.m. Register online or call 732-657-7600.

2. The library will also host Read to the Dogs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Beginners can gain confidence in their reading skills by reading to Merlin, a certified reading therapy Border Terrier. Call 732-657-7600 to register for a 15 minute spot.

3. From 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Workforce New Jersey's Christine Karaska will be at the Connection's Ocean County Mall office with tips on how to land the right job. Bring your resume to the Connection's office located near JC Penny's. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

4. The Ocean County Historical Society in Toms River will have its board meeting at 7 p.m. in the Birdsall Room. Call 732-341-1880 for more information.

5. The Manchester Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at the municipal complex on Colonial Drive. The agenda is posted online.
