Five things to know today

Temperatures are cooling off following yesterday's near 70 degree weather, as today's high should be about 60 degrees. Clouds will roll in and showers are possible.

1. The Writer's Circle will meet from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at .  Bring your works and receive critiques and tips from other aspiring writers. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.

2. The Ocean County Office of Veterans Services and Workforce N.J.'s Veterans Assistance will be available to help vets from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you're a veteran in need of information about employment, health services and benefits, the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall may be of help. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

4. Georgian Court University in Lakewood will host the Organic Gardening Demystified program at 6:30 p.m. Call 732-987-2232 for more information.
