Five things to know in and around Manchester today

After a rainy Sunday, the start of the workweek will see mostly sunny skies with a high in the low-80s, according to the National Weather Service.

Here's what's going on locally today:

1. The Manchester Township Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. at the  on Colonial Drive. The agenda, in draft form, is available online.

2. Manchester will welcome three new police officers to its force during a swearing in ceremony at 9 a.m. at the civic center below the courtroom in the municipal complex. Chief of Police Brian Klimakowski about the number of officers employed in the township.

3. From 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Workforce New Jersey's Christine Karaska will be at the Connection's Ocean County Mall office with tips on how to land the right job. Bring your resume to the Connection's office located near JC Penny's. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.
