Feb. 15: Environmental Commission, Strength Training and Board of Education

The Manchester Environmental Commission meets tonight, the library hosts strength training, the Lakehurst Board of Education meets and more

After yesterday's 50 degree temperatures, it will feel a bit more like February out there today as a high of around 40 degrees is expected. It could get breezy out there as the National Weather Service predicts gusts as high as 36 mph.

Take a look at what's going on today:

1. The Manchester Township Environmental Commission is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at the municipal complex, 1 Colonial Dr. The meeting agenda is available online.

2. In Lakehurst, the board of education is set to meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. The board meets at the elementary school media center, 301 Union Ave., in Lakehurst.

3. Keswick Pines Fitness Director Ron Hyland will be at the library for a strength training demonstration. Make sure to bring your light weights. Call 732-657-7600 for more information or register online.

4. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Ocean County Office of Veterans Services and Workforce NJ's Veterans Assistance will be available to help vets. If you're a veteran who needs information on employment, health services and benefits, stop by the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall. Call the Connection for more information at 732-288-7777.

5. Also at the Community Connection today, those having problems with consumer issues can stop by from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. to learn where you can get assistance. An Ocean County Consumer Affairs Department representative will help get answers this evening at the connection's Ocean County Mall office.
