Feb. 22: Lakehurst School Board, Exercise for Kids and Computer Class

Five things going on today

Though overnight snow accumulations shouldn't total too much, always check ahead to ensure these events are on schedule.

Here are some things to keep in mind today:

1. The Lakehurst Board of Education is set to meet tonight after last week's regularly scheduled meeting was canceled. The board meets in the media center of the Lakehurst Elementary School at 7 p.m. and holds its public portion at 7:30 p.m.

2. The Manchester Township Municipal Alliance is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. in the municipal complex civic center. The group usually meets the Tuesday of each month. Volunteers are always needed and can contact coordinator Marianne Borthwick at 732-657-8121, Ext. 3901.

3. Kids ages 4-6 can exercise their creativity at the Ocean County Library Manchester Branch at 10:30 a.m during Preschool Build It, a program that encourages the youngsters to "make friends and get building." Materials are provided by the library. Call 732-657-7600 or register online

4. The library also has a program for adults today. From 10 to 11 a.m., participants can come in to learn about basic internet skills. Call 732-657-7600 or register online.

5. Civil war artifacts will be unveiled at the nearby Lakewood Municipal Building, 231 Third St., at 2:30 p.m. Georgian Court University contributed the 19th century postmaster uniform.
