Gas Price Relief Continues as Fourth of July Weekend Nears

Average price down to $3.48 locally

Gas prices continue a steady decline, as for the eighth straight week the local average price for a gallon of regular gasoline has dropped.

Local motorists are now paying $3.48 for a gallon, down two cents from last week’s average of $3.50.

The price for a barrel of oil traded in the $90 to $95 dollar range over the past week, as commodity traders attempted to weigh the potential impact that President Barack Obama’s release of 60 million barrels of oil from the U.S. strategic oil reserves and a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing could have on the demand for oil worldwide.
