Gas Prices Remain Steady

Local are paying $3.49 average for a gallon of regular this week

Local gas prices remained steady this week, as the average price for a gallon of regular is only a 1-cent difference versus this time last week. Motorists in Manchester and Lakehurst are now paying about $3.49 a gallon, compared to $3.50 last Friday.

The price of a barrel of oil has remained comparable to last week as well, with current trades around $87 a barrel, nearly in line with last week’s $88.

The barrel of oil price started the day above the $88 mark, but dropped below that as the U.S. dollar has gained some strength on the euro and investors weigh in on the expected impact of the plans President Barack Obama outlined in his job speech on the economy.
