Five things to know in and around Manchester today

Here are some of today's local events:

1. Manchester's Environmental Commission is set to meet at 7 p.m. the municipal complex on Colonial Drive. The agenda is available online.

2. The Teen Book Club will meet at  at 10 a.m. This selection for July is "The Adoration of Jenna Fox" by Mary Pearson. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.

3. The library also has a Sand and Mosaics craft program for children ages 3-8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

4. The Ocean County Office of Veterans Services and Workforce N.J.'s Veterans Assistance will be available to help vets from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you're a veteran in need of information about employment, health services and benefits, the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall may be of help. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

5. The Robert J. Novins Planetarium has three shows: "Kaluoka'hina, the Enchanted Reef" at 11:30 a.m., "Wonders of the Summer Sky" at 1 p.m. and "Touching the Edge of the Universe" at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $7 for children 12 and under and OCC students.
