Below are some of today's nearby happenings:

1. The  "Mario Kart" racing video game tournament for children ages 9-14 will begin at 10:30 a.m. To register, call 732-657-7600.

2. Dawn Keen from the Center for Health and Healing will hold Beach Yoga at the Hiering Avenue beach area in Seaside Heights beginning at 8 a.m. Call 732-505-8282 for more information.

3. The Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars will have two shows at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, one at 4:30 p.m. and another at 7:30 p.m. Call 732-901-7000 for more information.

4. A surf fishing clinic will be held at Island Beach State Park from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Equipment and bait are supplied. Call ahead to register at 732-793-1398.

5. The Toms River Municipal Band will perform at that township's branch of the Ocean County Library on Washington Street at 7:30 p.m. Viewers are requested to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.
