Five things happening in and around Manchester today

It will be hot today, as the National Weather Service expects sunny skies with a high near 93 degrees. An air quality alert has been issued for Ocean County.

Here are some of today's local happenings:

1. Bring the kids — ages 5-12 — to  from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the Bricks 4 Kidz program. Children will use their imaginations while building models such as the Eiffel Tower and a sailboat. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.

2. Manchester's  will also host a free movie screening when "Somewhere" is shown at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The R-rated film follows the life of a failed actor. 

3. A fireworks display at the Seaside Heights boardwalk will begin at 9:30 p.m. For more information, call 800-732-7467.

4. The Infernos will play at Veterans Park in Berkeley at 6 p.m. Concert-goers should bring lawn chairs and blankets. Fireworks will follow the performance. Call 732-269-4456 for more information.

5. The County Connection today will offer assistance with consumer issues. An Ocean County Consumer Affairs Department representative will help get answers from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the office. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.
