Five things happening in and around Manchester today

Showers are expected today, mainly between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. A hazardous weather outlook issued by the service states that minor tidal flooding may be possible near coastal areas. The high should reach 70 degrees.

1. Strength Training for Seniors with Ron Hyland, fitness director at The Pines in Whiting, will be held at  from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.

2. The Ocean County Board of Social Services will be at the Community Connection from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to talk to eligible residents about assistance programs. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

3. The BlueClaws will take on the Hagerstown Suns at 7:05 p.m. at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood. It's Seniors Day. Call 732-901-7000 for ticket information.

4. Georgian Court University will host Tuesday are for Touring at 10:30 a.m. Take a tour of the university grounds, including the mansion, gardens and McAuley Heritage Center. For more information, call 732-987-2263.

5. Olympic Bronze Medal swimmer Tom Wilkens will lead an attempt for the World's Largest Swimming Lesson at Breakwater Beach Waterpark at 11 a.m. Kids ages 1-14 are invited, for free, to join the attempt as organizers raise awareness for swimming lessons.
