June 18: Lego Club, June Jamboree and Matlosz Fundraiser

Five things going on in and around Manchester today

There's a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service, but beyond that, it should be a sunny day with a high of 87 degrees.

Below are some of today's local events:

1. Lego Club will meet at  at 11 a.m. Children ages 6-12 are invited to use the library's blocks. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.

2. A Coast Guard Auxiliary-sponsored program at the County Connection will have information for boaters on upcoming safety classes. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

3. Holding Onto Hope is holding a fundraiser at the Headliner on Route 35 in Neptune from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for fallen Lakewood Police Officer and Manchester resident Chris Matlosz. All proceeds will benefit the Lakewood Police PBA Officer Benefit Fund. More information is available online.

4. The Northern Ocean County Animal Facility is holding its in Jackson from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be games and contests as well as summer photos of your pet. For more information call 732-657-8086.

5. Tuckerton Seaport is hosting their Nineteenth Annual Baymen's Seafood and Music Festival at 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be Jersey fresh seafood, a clam shucking class, family activities, boat rides, crafters and vendors.
