March 15: Senior Fitness, Veteran's Services and Open Mic

Five things to know today

Temperatures should reach about 50 degrees today, though the National Weather Service is reporting that cloud cover will increase throughout the day. 

Below are some local events happening today:

1. A fitness program for seniors will teach techniques to for better strength and balance. Ron Hyland, fitness director for Keswick Pines in Whiting, will be at the Manchester Branch of the Ocean County Library to host the Better Balance for Seniors program from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Call 732-657-7600 or register online.

2. Works of art by local teens will be on display at Ocean County College as part of the Teen Arts Festival. From 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., visit the Arts and Community Center Theater to view the works in this free gallery presentation. Call 732-255-0400, Ext. 2098 for more information.

3. The Ocean County Office of Veterans Services and Workforce N.J.'s Veterans Assistance will be available to help vets from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you're a veteran who needs information on employment, health services and benefits, the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall may offer assistance. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.

4. Another program at the County Connection today offers assistance with consumer issues. An Ocean County Consumer Affairs Department representative will help get answers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the connection. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.
