Five things to know today

Today's high is expected to reach 63 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Believe it or not, tomorrow should be even warmer. 

Below are five things happening today:

2. The Lakehurst Borough Council is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Lakehurst Community Center, 207 Center St. The agenda shows that the council will introduce the tentative 2011 municipal budget tonight. 

3. Author and illustrator Floyd Cooper will speak at Ocean County Library's Manchester Branch at 6 p.m. Cooper, whose illustrations are featured in over 85 published works, about his technique. Register online or call 732-657-7600.

4. Also at the library today, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., book lovers will gather for the bi-monthly "Book Chat." Readers can talk about what books they've recently finished and also hear suggestions for what to read next.

5. The Wellness Community in Toms River, 591 Lakehurst Rd., has Exercise for Strength at 10 a.m., Relaxation and Guided Imagery at 11 a.m., and Caregivers Group at 12 p.m. For more information call 732-578-9200.
