March 2: Free Movie, Drum Line and Homework Help

Five things to know for today

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-50s today, according to the National Weather Service. Hope you can take a few minutes to enjoy the expected sunny weather.

Here are some things going on today:

1. High school and middle school drummers and those looking to get into percussion can attend a Manchester high school drum line rehearsal from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m today in the high school band room. Students with any experience level in grades 7 through 12 are welcome. Contact band director Raymond Sinclair at 732-408-2566 for more information.

2. It's day two of HSPA testing for Manchester high school juniors. Classes are operating on an altered scheduled, so be sure to check out the details.

3. Want to catch a free movie? "Salt," starring Angelina Jolie, is showing at the Manchester Branch of the Ocean County Library as part of the Feature Film Festival. The PG-13 rated spy thriller is 100 minutes long and will play at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

4. Kids need some help with their homework? Teen Librarian Joanne will be available to offer help to students in grades 7 through 12 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m at the Manchester Branch of the Ocean County Library. No appointment is necessary.

5. The Lakehurst Historical Society will be open today from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. House in the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Ocean County on 300 Center St. in Lakehurst, the society houses artifacts from the borough's rich history. A friendly staff is more than willing to provide tours and answer questions. Call 732-657-8864 for more information.
