Five things to know today

Here are today's happenings:

1. It's the last Tuesday of the month, which means the Manchester Municipal Alliance is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at the civic center in the municipal complex. Volunteers are needed, and those with questions call coordinator Marianne Borthwick at 732-657-8121, Ext. 3901.

2. The Lakehurst Board of Education is scheduled to meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Lakehurst Elementary School media center. The school is expected to be presented. 

3. is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Guests are asked to bring a healthy dish to share.

4. Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library is holding Read to the Dogs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Steele, a certified reading therapy Pitbull will sit patiently as beginning readers practice their skills. Registration is required by calling 732-657-7600.

5. Kindergarten registration continues at Lakehurst Elementary School. Call the school at 732-657-5741 for more information.
