March 3: Manchester Board of Education Special Meeting, Lakehurst Council and More

Five things to know for today

After some mild days, we're in for a cold one today as the National Weather Service expects a high of 35 degrees. The sun should be out, though.

Here are some local happenings for today:

1. A special meeting of the Manchester Board of Education is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Ridgeway Elementary School. The tentative school budget will be up for approval.

2. The Lakehurst Borough Council will meet first at 7 p.m. for a redevelopment meeting and at 7:30 p.m. for their regular meeting. Both meetings will be held at the community center, 207 Center St., in Lakehurst. Check out the agenda before heading over.

3. Need some computer help? Visit the Manchester Branch of the Ocean County Library at 10 a.m. for a basic skills mouse class. Call 732-657-7600 or register online.

4. Today is the last day of HSPA testing for Manchester high school juniors. Seniors have a delayed opening while juniors have an early dismissal. Check out the modified schedule online.

5. Those requiring some help with their Social Security can visit the County Connection's Ocean County Mall office from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A representative from the Social Security Administration will be available to answer questions. Call 732-288-7777 for more information.
