Below are today's local happenings:

1. The City Gate Speakers will be at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library to perform children's stories at 10 a.m. Call ahead at 732-657-7600 or register online.

2. Springstock begins at 10 a.m. at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood. The parking lot opens at 10 a.m. for tailgating and performers, including 38 Special, will begin at 4 p.m. Military personnel get in free. Call 732-901-7000 and select option two for more information.

3. The Community Chorus of Ocean County College will hold a spring concert at 8 p.m. For ticket information call 732-255-0500.

4. The Ocean County Artists Guild in Island Heights will hold an Artisans Marketplace of Fine Handmade Crafts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature crafts, a Mother's Day raffle and dessert plates. Call 732-270-3111 for more information.

5. "Songwriters by the Sea" will begin at 8 p.m. at the Strand Center for the Arts in Lakewood. The show invites attendees to sit on the stage will singers and songwriters perform. More information is available online or by calling 732-367-7789.
