Nov. 4: Health Care Questions Answered, Hawks Football and Chess Club

Five things to know in and around Manchester today

1. Representatives from the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance will speak to residents about federal health care reform at 2 p.m. at of the Ocean County Library. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.

2. The Hawks football team will travel to Point Pleasant Borough High School for a 7 p.m. game. 

3. Players of all ages and skill levels are invited to attend the Chess Club at  from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The library asks that participants bring their own boards.

4. The Ocean County Mentoring Program would like adult volunteers to work with boys and girls ages 8 to 11. The program coordinator will be available to discuss the details at the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

5. "Book of Days," winner of best play from the American Theatre Critics Association, will be staged at the Arts and Community Center at Ocean County College at 7:30 p.m. by the college's theatre company. Call 732-255-0500 for ticket information.
