Saturday, Feb. 5: See the Stars, Discuss a Book and Volunteer

Planetarium shows, "Pioneer, Go Home!" discussion and a chance to help out kids

If it's snowing as you read this, wait a bit and that precipitation should turn to rain after 9 a.m. as temperatures climb to a high of 39 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Some snow may fall between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m., so be careful if you hit the town tonight.

Here are some things to look forward to today:

1. Too cold to get outside to watch the stars? The Robert J. Novins Planetarium at the Ocean County College has the answer. Wonders of the Sky will be shown at 7 p.m., followed by Bad Astronomy: Myths and Misconceptions at 8:15 p.m. Tickets for the shows, which runs about an hour, are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $7 for children 12 and under and OCC students. Call 732-255-0343 for more information.
