Sept. 21: BOE Meeting, Library Play Time and Teen Homework Help

Five things to know in and around Manchester today

1. After holding its summer public meetings at administration offices in Whiting, Manchester's  will return to at 7:30 p.m. for its September meeting.

2. Parents looking to get their children ages 1-6 out of the house can take them to Drop in Play, also at the library's . Children can play with the library's toys in the meeting room 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

3. Also at the library, students in grades 6-12 can stop by between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. for homework help with Teen Librarian Joanne. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.

4. The Lakehurst Historical Society will be open today from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. House in the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Ocean County on 300 Center St. in Lakehurst, the society houses artifacts from the borough's rich history. A friendly staff is more than willing to provide tours and answer questions. Call 732-657-8864 for more information.

5. Irish artist Anthony John Clarke will perform at the Murray Grove Retreat and Renewal Center in Lanoka Harbor at 7 p.m. Call 609-693-5558 for more information.
