Sept. 8: Free Blood Pressure Screenings, Computer Class and Chicks with Sticks

Five things to know in and around Manchester today

1. Learn basic internet skills at  of the Ocean County Library from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The seminar will teach the fundamentals of using the internet, such as what the icons mean and how to navigate the the web. Call ahead at 732-657-7600.

2. Free blood pressure screenings are offered today by the Ocean County Health Department. Stop by the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for testing.

3. The Chicks with Sticks knitting and crocheting group will meet at the library from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to share ideas, patterns and make new friends. For more information, call 732-657-7600.

4. The Lakehurst portion of the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Remembrance 5K run scheduled for this morning has been postponed. Manchester Patch will announce the new date when it's known.

5. New Egypt Cruz Nite on North Main Street, sponsored by the New Egypt Historical Society, runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Call 609-752-0800 for more information.
