Sunny Start, Cloudy End

Pleasant weather for the first half of the week with sunny skies and warm temperatures

Last week, the Northeast experienced several days of blazing heat that broke records across New Jersey.

During the past heat wave, Newark and Atlantic City both reported temperatures of 102 degrees, which beat their records of 99 degrees and 98 degrees, respectively,Β in 2008.

This week, we are in for much more pleasant weather. The workweek will begin with mostly sunny skies and a few passing clouds. The temperature will remain in the mid-70s. This trend will continue through the first half of the week but the temperature will rise each day.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the sun will continue to dominate the sky. Temperatures will struggle to reach the 80-degree mark on Tuesday, but should make it to the mid-80s on Wednesday.

After three consecutive pleasant days full of sunshine, clouds will get into the mix on Thursday. Temperatures will remain in the 80s, but there will be a chance of rain showers in the evening.

The cloudy trend will continue on Friday as rain threatens throughout the day. Temperatures will reach the mid-80s once again.

The weekend will not be a complete washout, but make sure your umbrella is handy. Clouds will continue to thicken throughout the day on Saturday, likely bringing showers to our area.

On Sunday, the skies will clear and the sun will return to the region. It will feel a lot stickier outside as the humidity increases. Β
