Monday, Sept. 12

  • Manchester's Township Council will meet at 6 p.m. at the  on Colonial Drive. A 9/11 Tenth Anniversary Proclamation will be read, among other agenda items.

  • Dr. Bernard and his life-sized bunny Hopscotch will be at Manchester's library at 6 p.m. for an educational children's program dealing with nutrition, exercise, safety and being a good citizen. For more

Wednesday, Sept. 14

  • Parachute Fun for children ages 2-4 will be held at the Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.
  • Also at the library, the inspirational film "Soul Surfer" will be shown at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The PG-rated film runs for 106 minutes.
  • The Hawks boys soccer team will travel to Barnegat for a 3:45 p.m. game, while the girls squad will also face Barnegat, at home at 3:45 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 15

  • The Lakehurst Borough Council will meet at the community center on Center Street for its second September meeting at 7:30 p.m.
  • Whiting Elementary School will host its Basic Skills parents meeting at 6 p.m., followed by Back to School Night at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 16

  • Former New York City Police Detective Enrique Colon Jr. will speak about his 9/11 experiences at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

  • After winning their season opener against South Plainfield last Friday, the Hawks football team is back in action for an away game versus Barnegat high school at 5:15 p.m.
