Monday, Aug. 22

  • The Manchester Township Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. at the on Colonial Drive. The agenda, in draft form, is available online.

  • A Parkinson's disease information session with Ron Hyland will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Manchester's branch of the Ocean County Library. For more information, call 732-657-7600.
  • Also at the library today, Mindy O'Mealia of the Rutgers University Career Services department will present part one of a two-part job search workshop from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The next session will be held on Aug. 30.

Wednesday, Aug. 24

  • Manchester's  is set to meet at 7:30 p.m. at the administrative offices, 121 Route 539 in Whiting. The location may change, so check the district website before heading out.
  • A book discussion at Manchester's library will focus on "Henry and Mudge and the Sneaky Crackers" by Cynthia Rylant. The program for children ages 6-8 begins at 10 a.m.
  • "The Lincoln Lawyer" will be shown at Manchester's library at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The R-rated legal thriller stars Matthew McConaughey.

Thursday, Aug. 25

  • After adjourning last month due to an excessive crowd, Manchester's Zoning Board of Adjustment will meet at 7 p.m. at . The by Manchester Rehab Realty will be heard.

Friday, Aug. 26

  • Players of all ages and skill levels are invited to attend the Chess Club at  from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The library asks that participants bring their own boards. Call 732-657-7600 for more information.
