Two Eggs And Counting At Island Beach State Park Osprey Nest

Osprey pair flew back to Island Beach in late March

The osprey watch at Island Beach State Park has begun.

Observers at the park say the osprey parents are taking turns on the nest perched close by the park's Interpretive Center. The action is caught on camera on the Friends of Island Beach State Park's "osprey cam."

Last year was a banner year for the osprey pair, who wintered in South America and flew back to Island Beach in late March. Four eggs hatched and all four fledglings survived.

You can watch the osprey cam streaming live on the Friends' website, here, and follow their progress as they prepare for and raise their chicks.
