Weekend Planner: Zumba for Kevin's Kids, Library Silent Auction and Ocean County History

1. A reception for the Friends of the of the Ocean County Library silent auction will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Bids on works by local artists can be placed from Nov. 1-25. 

2. The fundraiser will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Manchester Volunteer Fire Company headquarters on Colonial Drive. A $15 donation toward the children's holiday toy drive gets participants a 90-minute dance fitness class. 

3. "Book of Days," winner of best play from the American Theatre Critics Association, will be staged at the Arts and Community Center at Ocean County College at 7:30 p.m. by the college's theatre company. Call 732-255-0500 for ticket information.

4. Watch the stars at the Robert J. Novins Planetarium at the Ocean County College during its shows Saturday and Sunday. Show descriptions and schedules are available online, or call 732-255-0342 for more information. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $7 for children 12 and under and OCC students. 

5. A quilt talk will be held by Ellie Greco at the Ocean County Historical Society Museum, 26 Hadley Ave., Toms River at 2 p.m. Call 732-341-1880 for more information.
