Weekend Planner: Manchester ROTC Drill and Holiday Shows

Events in and around Manchester this weekend

1. The NJROTC at will host the Area Four Regional Drill meet beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday. Teams from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware will compete for a spot in the May championship. 

2. "It's Beginning to 'Sound' A Lot Like Christmas" will be performed by the Ocean County College Concert Band at the school's Arts and Community Center at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday. Then, on Sunday, "The Nutcracker" ballet will be performed. For more information, call 732-255-0500.

3. The Garden State Philharmonic Chorus will present "Messiah" at the Christ Episcopal Church in Toms River at 3 p.m. Sunday. Featured soloists Mary Petro, Catherine Freeman and Daniel Klein will perform. A donated of an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots is requested. Call 732-255-0460 for more information.

4. Life’s Miracles Photography in Bay Head will collect donations of baby booties for ill newborns at 11 a.m. Sunday. 

5. "A Christmas Carol" will be staged by the Riddlesbrood Traveling Theater Company at The Strand Center for the Arts in Lakewood at 2 p.m. Saturday. Ticket information for the Charles Dickens' classic is available by calling 732-367-7789.
